Dangerous

Dangerous by Caleb Bislow is a fabulous read! It is challenging me to be in tune with Gods calling...to be willing to go where He calls me....even if the goal seems immeasurable. It is also a good read for those who are in missions, have a heart for missions or need to get a heart for global missions. I reccomend it! Fired Up

I liked "Fired Up" by Mary Connealy. It had a decent plot line (must read the first book in the series) and good character build up. However, I am finding that I am growing weary of the traditional historical romance plot so am going to take a break from this type of book. Even with good writing they, including this book seem to be rather repetitious. I received this book free for review from Bethany House Publishing.

Stranded

Well, my new favorite author has done it again! The third book in the Alaskan Courage series follows the story of Darcy St. James and Gage McKenna as they uncover a dark and lurking mystery surrounding the disappearance of Darcy's friend while aboard a well known cruise ship. A suspense novel, written in a style similar to Dee Henderson, that will keep your attention to the very end! I received this book free for review from Bethany House Publishing.

Sweet Sanctuary

"Sweet Sanctuary" by Kim Vogel Sawyer is the story of a woman, Lydia, struggling to protect her inherited son from his father, who is bent on selling him to support his drug addiction. In the process she reunites with a doctor, Micah Hatcher, who embarks on a mission to help protect them both. In the meantime, Dr. Hatcher is also working on his own mysterious project, while serving his local community in New York. The historical setting of the novel is the time period of World War II. At first it seemed that I could not get into the novel at all, but once I was close to half way through, it really held my interest and I finished the rest of it in about one sitting. From a romance standpoint it seemed pretty predictable, but other aspects of the novel had twists and turns that kept it interesting. Swept Away

Swept Away by Mary Connealy is the first novel in the "Trouble in Texas" series. It storyline unfolds as Ruthy MacNeil is rescued from one dire situation of life and death and pulled into yet another as her rescuer plots to take back his stolen ranch from the hands of very evil men. This was pretty typical of most Christian romance novels, but I would be apt to try another book by this author as I am intrigued by the fact that she resides on a Nebraska ranch with her family. Shattered

Shattered by Dani Pettrey is the nail-biting sequel to "Submerged". I loved the first novel in this series, and was not disappointed with the second. Lots of action packed suspense set these books apart from many other Christian fiction novels. I also appreciate the humanity of the characters. It continues the story of Piper McKenna and her guarded friendship with Deputy Landon Grainger, as they try to unravel the mystery of a young woman's murder, in the hopes of clearing Piper's brother of murder charges. To Honor and Trust

I did not realize when I chose this novel that it was book 3 in a series. However, it was a great novel in itself, not leaving much to question. This particular story follows a young woman hired as a governess for family friends of her deceased grandmother. While she enjoys caring for the children, she is overwhelmed with questions about what she should be doing with her future. As she contemplates whether or not to continue as a governess or join her parents in the mission field, she finds that while we make plans, it is God who directs our steps. I found the setting and time period of this novel to be different and interesting. The characters are colorful, and there is a little mystery, along with entertaining story plot. Not just a typical romance. Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller write great stories when they put their talents together! I received this novel free for review from Bethany House Publishing
